With the 77th FIA Formula 1 World Championship season beginning on 6th to 8th March 2026 we’ve got a list of movies and documentaries to get you through, to the starting line.
For our Formula 1 enthusiasts, if you’ve read in the news about ‘Anti Racing’: the three-day testing in Bahrain has split opinion on the new legislations and car performance. To save you head spinning from rumours to race, I have a documentary for you to watch for our pre-season watching.
Buckle-in and watch ‘Life on the Limit’ (2013): this will give insight into the balance of safety and the complete thrill of driving. It will also help you understand the frustrations of the new legislations as a driver and why they are there.

If you’re not familiar with 24 hours of Le Mans, it is the oldest endurance racing event in the world. It’s a team of two drivers that change every two hours, while they white knuckle the steering wheel for 24 hours around the Circuit de la Sarthe near Le Mans, France. The real test is not just the driving, but the car itself, testing endurance, reliability, speed and stamina.

Le Mans (film) (1971): Steve McQueen. Should I say more? Featuring actual footage captured during the 1970, yes, please! Watch two car racing champions battle it out in a test of endurance in Le Mans, France.
I’m not saying I’m a romantic, but Ferreria’s are red and man is true, The Juan Manuel Fangio Story was cool. If your F1 history is patchy, don’t miss out on this guy. “El Maestro” was a legend, he dominated the first decade of racing, holding five world championships with four different teams. Which shows, the car did not maketh the racer, the racer made the car. Watch:
A Life of Speed: The Juan Manuel Fangio Story (2020): Starring Fernando Alonso, Jackie Stewart and many other formula 1 drivers commentating in this documentary on the masterpiece that was Juan Manuel Fangio.
Will Ferell is not a driver, neither is John C. Reilly and if your friends not into racing, why not soft launch their interests with Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby because “if you ain’t first, you’re last”.
