Café Review: Wilson Street Pantry

As winter is coming, I’m sure many students can relate, it becomes harder and harder to get out of bed for those 9am starts. As a food lover, I believe that I have found an incentive to get out of bed in the early hours – even on the coldest of mornings!

Situated in Merchant City, Wilson Street Pantry is home to warming artisan style coffee, filling breakfasts and a great lively atmosphere. For a reasonable price, especially considering its location, the café has a lot to offer and there is something for everyone to enjoy. I find myself venturing to this location regularly for breakfast before heading to start a lengthy day at University.

If you haven’t been to this establishment yet, let me tell you a few of the reasons why you should make it next on your list of places to visit. It’s the perfect distance from campus to grab a cup of their locally sourced ‘Papercup’ coffee. Their unique coffee blend is one of the cafés greatest offerings and coffee beans are also available for purchase.

For any Instagram enthusiasts, let me assure you that every coffee is picturesque with beautiful latte art in every cup. The interior is very modern-chic and it’s the perfect location to socialise with friends over brunch. There is also a wide selection of food to choose from, one of my personal favourites being their avocado and sourdough toast (and they aren’t stingy with their servings!)

Conveniently, most items are available for takeaway and the wait is short, meaning that even the busiest of students have enough time to enjoy the treats. There are also a selection of vegan options and soya milk alternative available. The only thing I could fault this café on is the noise level – but otherwise it’s excellent!

Wilson Street Pantry is a great option for those individuals who want to support local business. I urge you to give this place a try – it is truly one of Glasgow’s best cafés.
