A new online magazine ‘telling the hidden stories of the people of Glasgow’ has been launched by postgraduate digital journalism students at Strathclyde University.

Maze magazine aims to reveal the diverse communities of Glasgow through an ‘innovative multimedia experience.”

The postgraduate students are from Indonesia, Taiwan, Norway, Italy, France, Cameroon, Nigeria, Croatia and Brazil as well as Scotland.

Editor Dara Butterfield said: “Our mission is to give you original and interactive articles bringing together new perspectives on community on a local and international scale.”

“Maze’s strength is in our multicultural and international team which allows us to find and explore new stories that could easily be missed.”

Dr Sallyanne Duncan, programme director for the MLitt Digital Journalism degree, said Glasgow is a “burgeoning cosmopolitan city with citizens from all over the world” and is “ready for a multimedia magazine that can tell their stories.”

“The students have come up with a brilliant concept that will give a voice to people in Glasgow that we seldom hear from.

The magazine was launched in Strathclyde’s Lord Hope building on 5 February and can be found at http://maze-mag.com.
