Short story: Serendipity – a 100 words story for Valentine’s

 

 “..and here are the exchange students who joined our society: Jenny, Emily, and Ronan.”

Toni rashly pushed her lecture notes into her bag and looked up. That name made her nervous. Could it be… Emily? She felt a sudden rush of blood. 

“What are you doing here?” she asked, her eyes fixed on Emily’s raspberry-pink lips, reliving that summer kiss that had kept her dreams alive through the cold, wintry months. 

Emily ran her fingers through Toni’s hair, uncovering her ear. She leaned towards her, cheek to cheek. Toni felt the warmth of her whisper. 

“Wanna be my Valentine?”
