The UK’s number one horror and fantasy film event is back for its 20th year. The event is to take place from Thursday 6 March to Saturday 8 March 2025 at the Glasgow Film Theatre, and there is much to be excited about!
The programme includes an exciting mix of filmmakers, directors, and actors presenting new projects in the horror and fantasy genres. This terrific event includes four world premiere features, as well as other international and UK premieres.
For the first time in Glasgow, FrightFest will present its renowned Short Film Showcase. The showcase ‘shines the spotlight’ on seven up-and-coming UK and Irish directors – all of which will be in attendance alongside a variety of cast members.
FrightFest co-director Alan Jones said: “There has never been a better time to be a fan of the horror, fantasy and science fiction genre and FrightFest, the UK’s biggest and most influential event, plays its vital part in spreading the communal message. This includes our residency at the Glasgow Film Festival, where the FrightFest audience is vibrant, welcoming and eager to embrace the dark unknown, and we absolutely love being a strand of such a truly interactive experience with the art of film”.
The event launches with the Scottish premiere screening of PSYCHE on the Thursday night, where director Stephon Stewart will be in attendance. PSYCHE is a sci-fi thriller where Mara (Sarah Ritter) and a vintage 1980s computer set upon a journey together, and nothing is as it seems.
