Nicola Sturgeon will be making an appearance at the University of Strathclyde this coming Thursday, the 23rd of November, 2017.
The First Minister will be delivering the 15th Kilbrandon Lecture in the Barony Hall.
Inaugurated in 1999, the lecture series is named after Lord Kilbrandon, who chaired a committee which resulted in the creation of the Scottish Children’s Hearings system.
The lecture series covers a range of issues relating to Scottish children upbringing and aims to explore how “we can make Scotland a better place to grow up.”
University of Strathclyde’s Principal, Professor Jim MacDonald, will open the lecture, while Professor Jennifer Davidson, who is the director of the CELCIS (Centre for Excellence for Looked After Children) at Strathclyde, will be chairing it.
Previous speakers over the years have been Professor Alexis Jay OBE, the independent chair of CELCIS; Sanford J Fox, Professor of Law at Boston College Law School and Kathleen Marshall, the former she was Scotland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People.
