Free olympic and powerlifting workshop

The centre for sport and recreation is holding a bespoke powerlifting workshop throughout February, run by health and fitness instructor Marcus Dowds. The sessions are free and will offer comprehensive advice and instruction on how to execute different weightlifting techniques. In total there are three workshops being offered:

Power lifting: Squat, deadlift and Chest Press- 13th February 3-4pm
Olympic lifting: Clean and Jerk (plus associated lifts)-20th February 3-4pm
Olympic lifting: Snatch (plus associated lifts)-27th February 3-4pm

The sessions will all be held in the weights room and spaces are very limited at 6 people maximum per workshop. These sessions transcend sport disciplines and will help you improve your neuromuscular system, fast twitch muscles, as well as raw speed and power. Ideal to improve your effectiveness on the pitch, pool, or court. Free expert coaching in this area is unheard of and if it’s something you’ve considered, don’t let this opportunity pass you by.
